Costs & Quotes

What to send with a roof-cleaning enquiry for a clearer quotation

Prepare a useful enquiry with your postcode, observations and access details, without climbing onto the roof or measuring it yourself.

Describe the concern in your own words

You do not need to know the technical name for every roof detail to ask for a quote. A short description of what you have noticed is more useful than guessing a diagnosis. For example, explain that moss clumps reach the driveway or that one gutter overflows during rain. If your concern is mainly appearance, say that too.

Include the property postcode and the best phone number and email for the reply. This lets the team confirm coverage and ask any follow-up questions. Avoid posting personal contact details in public blog comments or review platforms.

Share what you already know

Useful details can include:

  • House, bungalow, commercial building or outbuilding.
  • The roof covering, if known; “not sure” is a valid answer.
  • Which parts of the roof you want considered.
  • Any known leaks, loose tiles or recent repairs.
  • Extensions, conservatories, rooflights or solar equipment.
  • Restricted side access, shared paths or parking limitations.
  • Your preferred timescale and any access arrangements.

Do not estimate roof area if doing so means climbing or working at height. A rough description is enough for the first conversation; the quotation may need a later assessment.

Photographs help, but only from a safe position

You can provide existing photographs or take new ones from ground level if it is safe. A wide view showing the roof and nearby structures can be more useful initially than a close crop of one moss patch. Do not lean out of an upstairs window, use a ladder or step onto an extension roof for a photograph.

A photograph cannot confirm every defect or establish all access requirements. If the team asks for an assessment before pricing, that is a way to reduce assumptions rather than a reason to take risks collecting more pictures.

Know what happens after you send it

Just Clean Roofs aims to reply within one working day. We may ask about the property, request safe photographs on follow-up or explain that a visit or further assessment is needed. Sending an enquiry is not an instruction to start work.

For Bolton properties, use the main contact form or the relevant service page. Keep your initial message focused on the roof and access. Once you receive a proposal, check that its scope and exclusions match what you wanted considered.
